Description
Bossington in Somerset lies on Holnicote Estate beside the Bristol Channel, with a shingle shore and coastal fields seen here below heather slopes glowing beneath the low sun of evening.
On Exmoor near Minehead, Bossington is a coastal hamlet within the Holnicote Estate. Thatched cottages distinguish the settlement, while its nearby pebble beach offers views along the Somerset coast and towards Wales, bringing village paths close to the open Bristol Channel.
From a heather-covered hillside, the view follows a long shingle ridge around pale blue water. Tidal channels thread through the low ground behind the beach, with neatly divided fields further inland. Steep coastal slopes recede into purple distance. Flowering heather suggests late summer, and a low golden sun warms the sea beneath peach and mauve clouds.
