Description
Bleaklow is framed by a weathered gritstone escarpment, its stacked ledges catching the light above a wide sweep of moorland and distant Derbyshire hills.
From a high slope, the land falls away in bands of olive, russet and muted gold, with fields and low ridges fading blue towards the horizon. Heather-coloured patches gather around the foreground, and a long pale track traces across the hillside under a broad blue sky.
Bleaklow carries the sense of an exposed edge where a brief pause opens a large view. For walkers familiar with this part of Derbyshire, the artwork holds the changing scale between close ground, distant farms and weather moving across the plateau under shifting skies.
