Description
Ben Lomond stands beyond reflective loch water and dark pines, its broad purple-grey summit set against a glowing bank of bright high summer cloud.
A line of conifers gathers along the water's edge, their dark crowns separating the calm loch from rolling green ground. Rocky earth and loose angular stones occupy the near bank, while the mountain's long ridges shift through russet, slate and muted violet. A large cluster of cream cloud rises directly behind the summit, leaving smaller blue-grey hills to recede at either side.
Ben Lomond has a distinctive presence across the loch, where changing light and the mountain's generous outline can be read from the shore. This scene preserves that broad outlook, pairing the close texture of the bank with the open water and the long sweep of the upper slopes.
