Description
Ben Donich rises near Lochgoilhead in Argyll and Bute, a compact mountain of grassy ridges and broken rock whose slopes overlook the sea lochs and forests of the Arrochar Alps.
The mountain reaches about 847 metres on the Ardgoil peninsula, close to Loch Goil. Four ridges extend from its summit, with forestry surrounding much of the lower ground, and a connecting pass links it with neighbouring The Brack above the glens.
Ben Donich appears as a knobbly green ridge beyond a narrow grassy valley. Grey rock patches break the summit outline, while a dark forest belt occupies the lower hollow. A small burn glints among stones in the foreground. Rust coloured plants mix with fresh turf, suggesting late summer, with clear daylight and cream clouds accentuating the open folds of the hills.
