This work is a fresco by Paolo Veronese, located within the Villa Barbaro at Maser. It forms part of the decorative programme commissioned by the Barbaro family, which remains one of the most complete examples of Venetian Mannerist interior design. The composition depicts three classical deities: Bacchus, the god of wine, Vertumnus, the god of seasons and gardens, and Saturn, the god of time.

Veronese employs a complex arrangement to fit the architectural constraints of the ceiling. The figures are positioned against a sky filled with clouds, creating an illusion of openness above the viewer. Bacchus is shown centrally, pouring wine, while Vertumnus and Saturn occupy the lower sections of the frame. A female figure playing a violin, accompanied by putti, adds a musical element to the scene. The artist uses a palette of soft blues, ochres, and deep reds, characteristic of his work in the Venetian tradition. The muscular anatomy of the figures and the dynamic poses reflect the influence of Michelangelo, adapted through Veronese's own sense of colour and light. The painting demonstrates the artist's ability to integrate mythological narratives into domestic spaces, a common practice among the Venetian elite during the sixteenth century. The figures are rendered with a sense of weight and volume, yet they appear to float within the atmospheric space of the ceiling. This fresco is a representative example of the decorative style that defined the late Renaissance in the Veneto region, where classical themes were frequently used to express the humanist interests of the patrons.
