Muller, a prominent Dutch engraver and painter from Amsterdam, was a master of the Mannerist style. His work is characterised by elongated figures, complex poses, and a high degree of technical precision in the use of the burin. The figures of Bacchus and Ceres are rendered with muscular definition and graceful, serpentine postures that are typical of the period.
