Description
Arch Rock cuts a bold opening through the Cornish cliff, above clear blue-green water, a narrow sandy cove and flowered slopes beneath soft clouds.
A great grey rock arch projects from the headland, its uneven face patterned with darker seams and sunlit ledges. Below, a slim crescent of sand meets shallow turquoise water, traced with small lines of foam. The cliff falls steeply from grassy slopes scattered with pale rock and tiny pink flowers, while a second headland fades into the calm horizon.
At Arch Rock, the view suits anyone drawn to the meeting of solid coast and open sea. Visitors can follow the shape of the shore from the high ground to the cove, while those familiar with Cornwall may recognise the clear water and folded cliffs of a bright day.
