Description
Aber Falls in north Wales drops in a bright white ribbon over grey rock, with green woodland, boulders and a turquoise pool beneath sunlit Carneddau slopes in summer.
Aber Falls, or Rhaeadr Fawr, lies near Abergwyngregyn at the northern foot of the Carneddau mountains. The Afon Goch drops about 37 metres over the rocky lip before continuing towards the coast. A valley path leads through this part of Eryri to the waterfall.
Water spreads down a tall grey cliff in white sheets, gathering into a clear blue-green pool below. Large boulders interrupt the near water between bright grassy banks. Dense summer trees cover the slope to the left, where pale rock bands lead the eye towards an open mountain shoulder under towering cream clouds and a vivid blue sky.
