Attributed to the master artist Basavana, who served in the imperial atelier of Akbar the Great, the work displays the synthesis of Persian stylistic conventions and the observational naturalism characteristic of the Mughal school. The scene depicts a banquet held in Ghazni in 1505, where Babur is hosted by his half-brother, Jahangir Mirza.

The composition is organised into distinct registers, a common device in Mughal manuscript illumination to manage complex narrative events.
