Sebastiano del Piombo was born in Venice around 1485. He initially studied under Giovanni Bellini before moving to the studio of Giorgione. In 1511, he left Venice for Rome to work for the banker Agostino Chigi. While in Rome, his style shifted toward a monumental approach influenced by Michelangelo.

Biography
In 1531, he received the office of the papal seal, known as the Piombo, and took holy orders. He produced various portraits and altarpieces during his time in the city. He died in 1547. Solis Prints offers fine art prints of his work, including Madonna and Child with Saints and Donors.
