Paulus Moreelse
Paulus Moreelse (1571-1638) was an artist from the Dutch Republic. He studied as a pupil of Van Mierevelt. After spending time in Italy, he returned to his home town around 1595.

Biography
His portraits show a development towards a fluid style, though some figures retain stately poses similar to those found in the work of Van Mierevelt and Van Ravesteyn. Beyond traditional portraiture, he produced pastoral scenes and history paintings. He also created arcadian portraits featuring figures dressed as shepherds, as well as allegorical group portraits.
