A delicate watercolour botanical illustration by Hannah Borger Overbeck, 'Orange Flower' captures the beauty of nature with soft colours and elegant composition. Perfect as a fine art print for adding a touch of vintage charm to your home.
Hannah Borger Overbeck (1870-1931) was an American artist and ceramicist, best known as one of the founding members of the Overbeck Pottery. Along with her sisters, she established a studio in Cambridge City, Indiana, producing distinctive art pottery and watercolour paintings. This watercolour, titled 'Orange Flower', exemplifies her delicate touch and keen observation of nature. Executed in 1915, the painting features a cluster of vibrant orange flowers with soft, muted green foliage against a warm, neutral background. The watercolour technique lends itself beautifully to capturing the translucence and fragility of the petals, while the composition focuses on the interplay of light and shadow. As a fine art print, 'Orange Flower' brings a touch of understated elegance and natural beauty to any interior. Its soft colour palette and botanical subject matter make it a versatile piece, suitable for a living room, bedroom, or study. The artwork's historical context adds a layer of sophistication, appealing to those who appreciate both art and craftsmanship.
