This series was published by Kawaguchiya Shozo and represents one of the artist's early successes in the landscape genre. In the foreground, two men navigate a timber raft down the river. A small fire burns on the raft, sending a thin trail of smoke into the air. This detail provides a sense of daily labour amidst the scenic surroundings. On the left, a winding yellow path follows the riverbank. Several figures walk along this trail, appearing small against the large pine trees and flowering cherry branches. The blossoms are rendered in soft pinks and whites, contrasting with the deep blue of the river. The artist includes small dots of white to represent falling petals on the water surface.
