Description
Dura Den follows a clear stream between high sandstone walls, with a narrow path and leafy canopy catching the Fife light on a summer day.
Layered russet rock bands rise in close vertical planes, marked by moss, trailing plants and small ledges. Dark rounded stones interrupt the turquoise current, while sunlit leaves make bright patches above the water. The track on the right curves into the shade, giving the gorge a close, sheltered scale.
A visit to Dura Den often means slowing down to follow the water through the trees. This view gives walkers a compact reminder of that passage, and lets people from nearby Fife keep the mix of cool stream, warm rock and dappled cover in mind between returns.
