Description
Cadair Idris - Penygadair in Gwynedd rises above a dark mountain pool, with green slopes, grey crags and scattered foreground boulders opening towards distant blue hills in clear summer light.
At 893 metres, Penygadair is the highest summit of the Cadair Idris massif in southern Eryri. The mountain overlooks the country around Dolgellau, with steep corries and lakes shaping the approaches from Tŷ Nant, Minffordd and the Dysynni Valley.
The view of Cadair Idris - Penygadair centres on a broad, craggy ridge above deep blue water. Green slopes alternate with pale scree and dark exposed rock, while larger angular boulders frame the near right edge. Distant water and blue-grey hills recede to the left. Bright cloud and sharp shadows suggest a clear afternoon during the summer walking season.
