Hubert-François Gravelot
Hubert-François Gravelot (1699–1773) was a French artist associated with the Rococo movement. He designed borders for nine of the eighteen plates in John Pine's The Tapestry Hangings of the House of Lords, published in 1739.
Biography
His work included designs for Jeux, which were engraved in England in 1738. Other designs by Gravelot appeared on soft-paste porcelain, such as a plate from the Chelsea factory featuring a boy flying a kite. Solis Prints offers fine art prints of his works, including Diogenes and Alexander and Invitation to a Meeting of the Brethren Natives of Westminster.
