This woodblock print, titled Autumn Moon over Tama River (Tamagawa no shugetsu), originates from the series Eight Views in the Environs of Edo (Edo kinko hakkei no uchi), produced by Utagawa Hiroshige during the late 1830s. The composition captures a serene evening scene along the Tama River, a subject that allowed Hiroshige to explore the interplay between natural elements and human activity. A large, pale moon dominates the upper sky, casting a soft glow over the riverbanks and the distant, muted mountain range.

In the foreground, a weeping willow tree leans gracefully over the water, its delicate branches rendered with precise, rhythmic lines.
