Beschreibung
The Thames at Maidenhead carries a pale stone bridge above calm blue water, with moored boats, riverside buildings and two geese beside the flowering bank in clear summer light.
Flowing from Gloucestershire towards the North Sea, England's best-known river passes through Maidenhead before reaching Windsor and London. Around Maidenhead, the water marks the historic boundary between Berkshire and Buckinghamshire, with settlements and crossings established along both of its banks.
The Thames reflects a long bridge of pale stone arches beneath cream clouds with lilac shadows. Low buildings occupy the left bank, where white umbrellas overlook moored craft. A green barge rests near the crossing. Two geese swim close to the nearest grass and small white flowers, while full foliage and gentle ripples suggest a quiet afternoon in summer.
