Beschreibung
The Swale in Kent glitters beyond golden marsh grass and curved muddy banks, with distant sailing boats below low trees and warm cloud in the soft light of a summer evening.
A tidal branch of the Thames estuary divides the Isle of Sheppey from mainland Kent. Its extensive wetland margins carry international Ramsar recognition and protected habitats, with the designated biological interest extending along the channel between the Sittingbourne and Whitstable areas.
Along The Swale, a muddy bank curves around a small pale shore beneath green and gold grass. Blue-grey water fills the left side, reflecting a narrow band of golden light below the distant horizon. Small yacht masts stand near a low tree line. Deep cream clouds soften the sky, suggesting a late summer evening over the level marshland.
