Beschreibung
The Ridgeway is pictured as a quiet suburban street, where a long road leads between leafy gardens beneath an expansive, cloud-marked sky in Greater London.
Rows of mature trees meet above the road, while clipped hedges screen the front gardens. On the left, white posts punctuate a narrow grass verge beside red roof tiles and a half-timbered gable. A single street lamp rises at the right pavement, and pale lane markings lead towards the vanishing point.
The high sky carries cream clouds with soft mauve undersides against blue. The Ridgeway view centres on the calm rhythm of a residential road, framed by greenery and familiar pitched roofs. The distant stretch draws the eye into the scene, while the broad sky keeps the composition open. It offers a recognisable glimpse of suburban Greater London through its tree-lined street and quiet pavement edges.
