The work depicts a scene from the eighth night of the narrative, illustrating a dramatic moment where a prince faces execution. The composition is structured within a clear architectural frame, typical of the period, featuring a central pavilion set against a sky rendered in gold and blue.

The artist, Ghulam 'Ali, employs a flattened perspective that prioritises narrative clarity over spatial depth.
