Beschreibung
The Capital Trail climbs through open Midlothian hills, where a pale winding path gives the broad view a calm sense of progress and space.
A high ridge rises on the right, while lower rounded hills fold away across the left and centre. Heather-coloured ground borders the pale track, which curves from the foreground towards the summit. Beyond it, blue ridges recede under a wide sky with layered clouds. The view is presented as open upland rather than a built route scene.
For walkers who know this path, the rising track and changing distance suggest the steady effort of crossing the hills above Midlothian. The Capital Trail brings that route into focus through its climb and the far-reaching view from the ridge.
