Beschreibung
Slieve Lamagan rises beyond rough Mourne grassland, its rocky summit set above pale boulders and patches of purple heather with a broad valley opening beneath the hill.
Large angular stones interrupt the lower right corner, with smaller fragments scattered across the turf. The mountain's flanks carry thin dark gullies and long exposed rock bands. A shallow hollow separates the nearest rough ground from the smooth lower slopes beyond it.
The view of Slieve Lamagan comes from the disused quarries below Douglas Crag in the retained reference. This position gives the summit a clear triangular outline while keeping the stone-strewn approach in sight. Heather and open grass soften the lower ground, setting its texture against the more continuous grey face of the upper mountain.
