Beschreibung
Rhossili on Gower looks down to a long golden beach, its church and white cottages set among green fields above breaking surf on a clear summer afternoon.
Rhossili occupies the western end of the Gower peninsula above a beach extending for roughly three miles. Atlantic swell makes the bay popular with surfers, while coastal walking routes link the village with cliffs and headlands. At low tide, the wreck of the Helvetia can be seen.
A stone church stands among rows of small gravestones below clustered white cottages. Narrow roads divide green fields around the village before footpaths descend towards the vast sweep of pale sand. White breakers mark the blue sea on the left, while a high grassy slope follows the beach into the distance beneath bright summer clouds.
