Beschreibung
Pegsdon looks out from a fold of chalk downland, where rounded green slopes, scattered trees and deep valley shadows lead towards a broad patchwork plain beneath a high summer sky.
The downland around Pegsdon gives this Bedfordshire view its strong changes of height. Close folds in the hillside frame a much wider landscape beyond, where field boundaries gradually become smaller towards the horizon. Bright grass and dark woodland keep the shape of the hollow easy to follow, with a generous expanse of blue sky above the rolling ground.
A steep grassy bank falls from the left into a narrow hollow. Rounded tree crowns follow its edge, each casting a long blue green shadow across the slope. On the opposite side, lighter grass sweeps back up towards a distant line of hedges and open fields.
