Mam Sodhail in Highland Glen Affric lifts a snowy triangular crown above a golden valley, with a lone pine and heather bank beneath the warm pink clouds of a winter evening.
Mam Sodhail reaches 1,181 metres above Glen Affric and stands beside Càrn Eige, the highest peak north of the Great Glen. Fine ridges connect the surrounding uplands above Loch Affric. An approach follows the Allt Coire Leachavie, while longer circuits link several of the neighbouring Munros.
A lone pine rises from the left foreground above purple heather and pale grey stones. Beyond the leafy valley trees, a sharply triangular mountain carries white snow across its upper face. A second rounded snowy crown appears farther back on the right. Gold light washes the lower slopes beneath peach and mauve cloud banks, suggesting a quiet winter evening above the glen.
