The series examines the changing social norms and fashions of women across different historical periods in Japan. This specific work depicts a housewife from the Bunsei era (1818–1830), a period often associated with relative peace and cultural development.

The woman is shown leaning against a wooden chest, her posture conveying a sense of weariness.
