Beschreibung
London Eye beside the Thames rises above blue water and small passenger boats, its white circular outline giving the South Bank a striking contrast with the surrounding rooftops.
Standing on the river's southern bank, the observation wheel reaches 135 metres above London. Designed by Marks Barfield Architects and opened to passengers in 2000, it became a landmark of the millennium, with enclosed capsules offering extensive views across the capital.
The London Eye dominates the right half of the scene, its fine spokes stretching between a white rim and central hub. Dark capsules punctuate the circle above the pale frontage of County Hall. Several boats rest beneath it, and a low bridge crosses farther left. Leafy branches shade the foreground embankment, suggesting a bright summer afternoon beside gently rippling blue water.
