Beschreibung
Loch Avich lies west of Loch Awe in Argyll, a narrow freshwater loch whose wooded shores and small islands preserve traces of ancient settlement among the inland hills.
Only about a mile from Loch Awe, Loch Avich forms a long, narrowly triangular freshwater basin. Its islands include Innis Luana, carrying castle ruins, and Eilean Fraoch, where a crannog survives, adding archaeological interest to this secluded part of mainland Argyll.
A slender tree stands beside still water, its sparse branches outlined against a low orange sun. Blue grey hills close around the far shore, and a small wooded island interrupts the reflected light. Dark green grass and patches of rusty vegetation occupy the near bank. The bare branches suggest a cooler season, while the warm sunset leaves a narrow golden path across the loch.
