Beschreibung
Kilnsea on the Humber’s northern bank opens onto broad tidal shore, where water, exposed sand and low coastal land describe the southern edge of Yorkshire’s Holderness peninsula.
South of Easington, Kilnsea sits in Holderness in the East Riding of Yorkshire, on the north bank of the Humber Estuary. The village is close to Spurn, the narrow coastal feature separating the estuary from the North Sea, and shares its exposed setting.
Blue channels divide broad copper-brown tidal flats, with dark seaweed scattered across the nearer shore. Angular rocks form a diagonal edge at the lower right, beyond which the water reaches a level sandy horizon. A few slender poles interrupt the distant land. High cream clouds and bright blue sky make the flat coastal space feel especially wide on this clear day.
