Beschreibung
Killhope in County Durham catches late-season light across golden grass, with an isolated stone farmhouse, red doors and winding field walls beneath an ochre Pennine ridge.
Killhope lies in upper Weardale within the North Pennines. The area is known for the Park Level lead mine and ore works beside Killhope Burn. Preserved industrial remains explain how lead was extracted and processed in a landscape also divided into enclosed upland fields.
A stone farmhouse and attached barns stand across a sunlit slope, their red doors darker than the warm masonry. A small timber gate interrupts the wall to the right. Behind the roofs, dry-stone boundaries climb green fields towards a broad rust-coloured ridge, while golden grasses fill the foreground beneath a blue sky with pale autumn clouds.
