Beschreibung
Firth of Lorn separates south eastern Mull from the Argyll and Bute mainland, an island filled reach of western sea where rocky coasts and distant mountains meet broad tidal waters.
Between Mull and the Scottish mainland, the sea inlet extends south west from the meeting of the Sound of Mull and Lynn of Lorn. Islands break its waters, and strong currents run through their channels, while raised cliffs and rock platforms characterise parts of the coast.
Firth of Lorn water spreads blue across the scene, reflecting broad streaks of pale sky. A low grassy island lies left of centre, opposite a steeper rocky headland. Layered green mountains rise on the far shore. White flowers and dark leaves frame the bottom edge, suggesting summer beside the firth in clear, gently shifting daylight.
