The composition employs a high vantage point, allowing the viewer to observe the movement of pedestrians across the wooden structure and the activity of boats on the Sumida River below.
The print belongs to the series Eight Views of Edo, a thematic collection that draws inspiration from the traditional Chinese motif of the Eight Views of Xiao and Xiang. Toyohiro adapts this classical framework to the urban environment of 19th-century Japan.
