Beschreibung
Cuaig on the Highland Applecross coast reveals a small rocky cove between grassy slopes, with clear turquoise shallows and a wooded headland opening towards the blue water of the Inner Sound.
Cuaig is one of the crofting townships making up the Applecross peninsula in Wester Ross. It lies on the western coastal route between Fearnmore and Lonbain. This part of the Highlands faces the Inner Sound, where grassy shore ground is broken by rocky bays and low headlands.
The scene looks downhill through green pasture towards a small strip of pale sand and scattered shore stones. Trees cover the left headland, their dark foliage reaching almost to the water. A fence crosses the nearer slope above rust coloured heather. Beyond the sheltered cove, the sea changes from turquoise to deep blue beneath broad white clouds, suggesting a bright summer day.
