Beschreibung
Cromarty Firth in the eastern Highlands sets tall offshore rigs against snow bright hills, with a green rocky shoreline opening onto broad calm water beneath a generous blue spring sky.
Cromarty Firth is a sea inlet opening from the Moray Firth, with the Black Isle forming its southern shore. Dingwall stands near the head, Cromarty near the entrance and Invergordon along the northern side. The narrow mouth leads into a broad sheltered basin among the Easter Ross hills.
A large jack up rig stands at right, its three lattice legs rising above the low horizon. Smaller offshore structures line the distant shore below green hills and white snowfields. Broad blue water occupies the middle of the view, lightly streaked by cloud reflections. The near bank is a simple edge of grass, dark bushes and flat stone shelves, with fresh colour beneath the winter marked heights.
