Beschreibung
Coldstream stands above a broad bend of the River Tweed, where turquoise reflections meet leafy banks and a tall stone monument rises among the town's pale houses.
White flowers and long grasses occupy the lower edge, giving way to a bright strip of meadow. Across the water, a low retaining bank sits beneath dense trees. Red roofs interrupt the cream and grey frontages, while a slender column rises above the surrounding gardens.
Coldstream is a Scottish Borders town beside the Tweed, and this riverside outlook makes its setting immediately apparent. The view joins water, open pasture and the built edge of the settlement without crowding them together. Broad summer clouds and the slow reflections suggest an unhurried afternoon on the bank below town.
