Cnicht rises above the fields of Cwm Croesor, its sharp summit standing clear against the broad, warm-coloured folds of the Welsh mountain landscape in a late-day glow.
A pale farmhouse sits low among trees, with field boundaries running across the hillside below bare, angular rock. A narrow lane enters from the right and curves past a simple gate, while cream cloud banks gather above the summit. Dark slate-blue shadows cut between the orange-brown ridges.
Cwm Croesor lies in Gwynedd below Cnicht, where the valley fields meet steep open mountain slopes. For walkers and people familiar with this part of Wales, the scene sets the high, sharply ridged mountain above quieter fields and tree-lined slopes, with changing light over the valley.
