Beschreibung
Catcleugh Reservoir lies between open hills, with dark belts of trees edging the distant water and rust-coloured bracken spreading through the rough grass on the near slope.
Seen from above Black Cleugh, Catcleugh Reservoir occupies a small part of a broad upland valley. Open slopes descend towards the water, with strips of woodland marking the lower ground. Farther hills overlap beyond the reservoir, their outlines fading into the distance.
Rust-brown bracken rises among long yellow-green grasses across the foreground. Behind it, a narrow road bends through the valley, passing fields divided by dark boundaries. A pale blue wedge of water appears between the wooded banks. Ochre patches break across the hillside on the right, beneath a sky filled with tall cream clouds and thinner horizontal streaks.
