Beschreibung
Berwickshire’s open moorland centres on a green rounded ridge, with muted heather above it lending the scene a spacious and quiet mood in the Scottish Borders..
A pale track crosses the upper slopes, while trees mark the high horizon. The green ridge drops into a darker hollow before rising again, and a fence separates it from tawny fields below. Long grasses frame the bottom edge beneath soft grey-blue and lilac clouds.
The view sets Berwickshire’s cultivated fields against open upland. The fence and track give scale to the hills, while bands of heather lead towards the distant tree line. The open sky keeps the distant slope visible above the broad foreground fields. Here the broad fields meet the open upland sky.
