Beschreibung
Ben Venue rises above a chain of Highland lochs, its wooded slopes and open summit giving the view a broad, layered character, with the surrounding view held in soft natural light.
The foreground is crossed by a rocky ridge, beyond which blue water winds between green hills. Ben Venue’s rounded summit stands among overlapping peaks, each fading lighter towards the horizon. Dark woodland follows the lower slopes, while open grass and exposed rock mark the higher ground. A broad sky carries broken white cloud. The lochs connect the mountain ranges through the centre of the scene, drawing the eye into the distance.
The mountain and lochs place Ben Venue within the varied terrain around the Trossachs. The change from rough foreground rock to forested slopes and open summits recalls the climb from lower paths to higher viewpoints. Water between the hills gives the scene its distinct sense of depth.
