Beschreibung
Angel of the North rises above a grassy knoll, its broad wings spanning a coral and amber sky while small blocks of town sit beyond the tree line.
The full ribbed sculpture stands on a sloping grassy rise, with its long wings extending to either side. Warm coral and gold clouds fill much of the sky. The sculpture’s dark outline remains clear against the brighter horizon.
At Gateshead, Angel of the North stands above a band of trees and small town buildings along the low horizon. The wide view keeps the sculpture’s whole outline in frame and leaves visible ground below its feet. Light catches the hill and separates its smooth foreground from the dark tree band. The rounded knoll divides the lower view from the distant urban edge.
