Beschreibung
Achmelvich on the Assynt coast in Highland offers pale crescents of sand and turquoise shallows, with purple heath and rounded grey rocks framing a bright summer shoreline.
Northwest of Lochinver, this Assynt settlement spreads across hills around several sheltered coastal coves. The beach's notably white sand consists largely of crushed shells, giving the bay its distinctive pale margin beside the clear waters of Scotland's northwestern coast.
At Achmelvich, two sandy curves are divided by low rocky headlands. Turquoise water deepens to blue beyond small dark outcrops, and white cottages sit back among grassy slopes. Large smooth slabs fill the foreground beside patches of purple vegetation. Small foam lines trace the empty beach. Fresh coastal greens and flowering heath suggest late summer beneath a sky of cream and lilac clouds.
