Beskrivning
Waternish on Highland Skye ends in green sea cliffs beside a small white lighthouse, with distant island silhouettes across deep blue water under high clouds in clear summer afternoon sunshine.
Waternish forms a peninsula in northwestern Skye between Loch Dunvegan and Loch Snizort. Small crofting communities occupy its sheltered bays, while the northern point ends in steep cliffs above a rocky shore. The lighthouse at that exposed promontory marks the coastal approach across the surrounding western waters.
A small white lighthouse with a warm coloured roof stands on a broad grassy point. Tall grey cliffs fall towards dark blue water, with thin white surf gathering around low rocks at their foot. Distant islands form a layered blue horizon beyond the light. Near green slopes and exposed slabs lie in strong sunshine beneath high summer cloud banks.
