This image documents a fragment of ancient textile, likely originating from the Late Antique period in Egypt. The piece consists of a coarse, plain-weave linen base, which has suffered significant degradation over the centuries. Despite the loss of much of the original fabric, the remaining sections retain remnants of wool embroidery. These embroidered elements feature stylised leaf motifs, contained within circular or oval borders.
