Beskrivning
The Haven, Aldeburgh is anchored by its tall lighthouse, standing beside the harbour water under a softly clouded sky, with the surrounding place in view.
The Haven, Aldeburgh appears in the scene. The Haven appears in a view shaped by the visible scene. The pale tower rises above a red-brick base at the right of the image. Dark posts mark the edge of the water, leading towards the low horizon. A small boat rests on the calm surface, while warm light colours the clouds and the harbour buildings.
The Haven, Aldeburgh is the setting for this view. Aldeburgh’s working waterfront is conveyed through the close meeting of tower, brickwork and tidal water. The line of harbour posts draws the view out towards the estuary, a familiar sight for people walking beside The Haven.
