Beskrivning
Strathcarron in Highland Wester Ross opens across snowy moor towards white mountain crowns, with dark conifer belts and pale cottages beneath broad cream clouds on a clear winter afternoon.
Strathcarron lies at the head of Loch Carron in Wester Ross, between the River Carron and River Taodail. The small settlement has a station on the railway through the western Highlands. The surrounding strath connects the sea loch with the inland hills around Achnashellach and Coulags.
White snow fills shallow channels between gold grass and purple brown heather. Dark conifers form a long middle belt around two pale houses, below overlapping mountain shoulders coated in snow. The central crown rises against a broad blue opening among cream clouds. Soft pink shade on the upper slopes suggests a clear winter afternoon across the quiet open valley.
