Beskrivning
A row of pale houses follows the road through Somercotes, with green trees and gardens lending the village street a bright, everyday feel The view holds the eye on the surrounding place.
The houses line the left side of the road, their white walls and red roofs separated by small gardens. A tall leafy tree rises behind them, while smaller shrubs mark the boundary between homes and pavement.
The road curves gently through the foreground and continues towards the fields beyond the village. A few houses stand farther back beneath a sky filled with soft clouds. Somercotes appears as a place where homes meet the surrounding countryside directly, without a sharp boundary between street and open ground. The tree canopy and the pale façades give the scene its strongest colour contrast.
