Beskrivning
Sleightholme in County Durham follows a bright rushing beck through green pastures, with a lone stone barn and low hills beneath the white clouds of summer.
Sleightholme is a small rural hamlet in County Durham, about four miles from Bowes. It stands beside Sleightholme Beck, whose waters join the River Greta. The surrounding landscape belongs to the upland country of the northern Pennines, with open grazing land around the stream.
White water breaks over shallow rocky steps before widening into a turquoise reach along the near bank. Clumps of rushes lean above the water, their darker stems standing against sunlit grass. A stone barn occupies the left slope beyond field walls, and a low green ridge runs across the distance under a clear blue summer sky.
