Beskrivning
RSPB Ham Wall in Somerset opens through feathery cream reeds to quiet blue channels, where dark waterbirds drift below Glastonbury Tor and its tiny tower on the horizon.
Near Meare and Ashcott, this Somerset wetland reserve combines extensive reedbeds with open water, woodland and grassland. Glastonbury Tor forms a familiar landmark beyond the marshes. The habitats support bitterns and kingfishers, with otters and water voles also found here.
Sunlight catches the pale plumes of reeds rising close along both sides of the water. Three dark birds break the smooth blue channel between them. Beyond the golden marsh, a low green hill carries a small square tower against the sky. Cream clouds and leafy margins give RSPB Ham Wall a warm, sheltered summer appearance.
