Beskrivning
Pocklington lies below a flowered hillside, with its square church tower and tiled roofs gathered among green trees under a wide, high Yorkshire sky.
Yellow tansy and tall dock stems spill down the grassy slope at the front. Three narrow cypress trees stand like dark candles to the right of the church. Across the plain beyond the houses, bands of fields fade to a low blue ridge under towering white cloud.
Pocklington is a market town at the foot of the Yorkshire Wolds, and its church tower is the clear marker above the roofs here. This hillside angle suits residents, walkers on the nearby slopes and anyone who likes a town seen from the fields around it.
